Tempo Festival: A Marathon of Music is an all day festival based in Starkville, MS. The identity is based around the fun spirit of the festival itself. The bright colors, textures and imagery reflect the soulful sounds of the music, while also reflecting the beats of the song with repetition.
The name of the festival comes from the definition of the word itself; TEMPO — 1. The speed at which a passage of music is or should be played 2. The rate or speed of motion or activity; pace. The word TEMPO is used within the world of running as well as the world of music. It is scientifically proven that the tempo of the music we listen to while running influences the pace in which we run. With that, TEMPO was the inevitable choice for the name of this festival.

This editorial was created using my original photography & typography design. The manipulation of type mimics the flow and textures of water.

Mad Mary’s is a bold drink. It’s pickled taste packs a punch much like it’s bold design. By allowing the concept to reflect the irony of the southern culture I grew up in, I was able to hold onto a fun, light-hearted aesthetic which is perfect for any picnic in the park.
50 Years of Art
April 2018 marks the 50th anniversary of the Department of Art at Mississippi State University. This campaign was designed to advertise about the many events the Art Department will be hosting to celebrate the history and impact of our college on campus.
Rhythm & Hughes
Poetry Zine + Letter Press Poster Series —
Collages of Langston Hughes’ rhythmic compositions of poetry give expression to his words by using type as an abstract element. Scanning these collages back into the computer allows for inherent textures to show through within each abstract form and line of type. While the paper colors are somewhat arbitrary, their natural qualities add to the expressive, poetic textures within the zine. —
I wanted to expand the zine into a more rounded body of work, so I decided to pull quotes from the poems and compose them into letterpress posters using wood type, magnesium dye plates, and my professor's very own collection of Caslon Old Style.
Poster + Poetry Zine
Exhibition mailer for artist and architect Daniel Smith. The mailer is a zine of haiku poetry that folds out into a poster to advertise the exhibit of his architectural renderings, photography, and 3D models from a collection of various structures.

Website graphics created for the eclectic band Modest Mouse. The torn and rearranged typography reflects the unique sounds of their music which is chaotic yet organized into unique compositions.
